Summary | 0017345: Game crashes when selecting the end of turn button at turn 87. | ||||
Description | The game from about turn 77 has become increasingly slow to the point by turn 87 I got this fatal error (see screen shot and save file). By turn 80 it was taking around 23 seconds to return after a turn. So I can't seem myself wanting to continue playing if this is slow at such an early turn time. | ||||

Do you have the debug logging turned on in the settings Extras tab? Specific Debug? Show Raw AI Attempts at construction? That's probably why this is slow and why you're getting an error. Can you turn that off and see if that solves your problem? Thanks! |

Actually I didn't have it turned on until turn 77. On turn 76, I noticed it was taking around 18 seconds to return. So I turned it on for the next turn, which I was able to confirm through the extra debug info the turn time. After that I turned the debug off, and by turn 80 it was becoming a more noticeable delay. I suspected by that point the application was about to go into a nose dive - sure enough turn 87 it gave the error show in the screenshot. |

I've tested the three saves attached to this and the other similar mantis record and the interturn times are between 1 and 2 seconds for two of them, and around 3 seconds for the one with a bunch of saucer activity. So I think whatever was bogging it down has been dealt with in changes already made for the next version. We've removed one of the debug toggles, but if you still see really-long-interturn-times in the next version then please retest with any remaining debug toggles set to off. It's helpful for us to know if it's the toggles or just the game itself :) Thanks! |
