Summary | 0017477: Claim 4 Territories Goal
Description | The Act 1 Goal of claiming territories will need to be revisited. It is either too easy or too hard. Expanding to a new territory costs 28k. As it stands, amusingly, the best income comes from building a new local authority. This leads to the attached save awkward situation, where I only build local authorities (and conquered everything). This is also the one of the few ways to expand territories with the speed that the AI claims territories. Once the rest of the economic buildings are brought up to produce income, this problem will be magnified. Alternatively, if you play more "correctly", the AI will take all available territories and you'll have to result to taking territory from them, which may be impossible, the mechanics for that haven't been implemented yet, so I don't know. (I'm assuming military attacks are not feasible due to planet responses.) This may also be reduced by in progress AI changes, I can't predict anything there.

Gah! Here's a big problem: * Fixed a bug where Small Shops were not producing any crowns!! They now produce 400, and shopping malls produce 600 rather than 1200. In terms of capturing that much territory, it's not supposed to be super incredibly hard or anything like that. Although in some cases it can be, sure. And I think that's okay. The goal of the Act I goals are not necessarily to provide challenge, per se. That can certainly be an aspect of them. But they are to provide direction, primarily. A direction that you get to select from at the start, but then a goal that you get to focus on prior to moving on into the later acts. The challenge of Act I is primarily meant to come from your usual citybuilding stuff and the way that interacts with whatever is going on in the game. That includes terrain and resources and your goals. It's fairly roguelike in that respect. But then again, so is AI War. And so is real war: you jump down into the jungle, and you might not have too good of intel. You deal with what you find on the ground. |

Income from Small Shops is going to be huge. Also, Shopping Malls aren't in Act 1. |

Yep I know. |
