You can set your save directory where ever you want in settings. Personally I really dislike the My Documents system layout. I want to keep all my files for a program in the same place. |

You actually can't change it in the settings menu. We do it this way to be sure we can actually write things, etc. It's just the way we've always done it in all our games, and overall seems to be preferred. There are outliers for sure, but it's nice because you can just pop this on a thumb drive if you want and have everything you need, etc. Plus using this method we can use steam cloud sync across all three platforms, whereas if we use my documents or whatever, then it won't sync your saves to linux from windows/osx and vice-versa (last I checked). |
