Summary | 0017759: attacking UI mechanics
Description | Attacking should involve: 1) User clicks on attack capable building. 2) User clicks on attack button within that building's commands. 3) User hovers over target, a window shows potential attack/retaliation. The window updates dynamically based on mouse input. All military buildings that will be involved in battle get highlighted to ensure the user understands it wont be just one building firing. 4) The user clicks once to attack, presses escape once to cancel, clicks the cancel attack button to cancel. 5) The user wins, clicks to attack again, or clicks cease fire to end the battle early.

I personally feel it would be better if each building could attack only once per turn (unless its a special building or the level ups make it better or something gamey like that). In that case the mechanics would be different (click building, choose attack, click target, (a) see retaliation from one of AI buildings which wont be able to fire again this turn, done, repeat with other buildings as necessary, end turn, (b) see full retaliation from AI on the "AI's turn") |
