Summary0017894: New Intro Idea
DescriptionI think a dynamic intro similar to what Spelunky has would be more immersive.

Here's what I imagine:
- We see our ship at the bottom of the screen, moving up against a background of stars.
- Words appear: The XXXX Galaxy, 100,000,000,000 A.D.
- The ship stays at the bottom and the stars scroll by.
- The slides from the current intro fade in and out, keeping the ship in view, and the stars faintly in view in the background.
- Eventually, when the slides are done, a huge ship takes over the top of the screen. Our ship enters the door of the huge ship, and the game begins.

This shouldn't be hard to do since it almost entirely uses current assets. The idea is that this will be more involving, and will visibly show what is happening (show rather than tell), including how we ended up in the massive ship.

This idea can now be enhanced. The ship could be still be shown flying through space, and when it enters the big ship, it drops off the mech. Also, the first level should start with the ship in which you entered nearby.

I support the idea of replacing the current intro with something else, even if it isn't something all that involved.

The current "The Last Federation" style intro feels out of place in this game.

The intro will be replaced outright by the tutorial. The plot and concept have been completely rewritten so forget everything that you learned about it before two weeks ago.

* The existing intro story, which has nothing to do with anything anymore, has been removed. The tutorial actually has the intro story in it now (thanks to those who suggested it), although as noted that's not fully implemented just yet.
