Summary | 0018117: Restore X energy per room, rather than full energy
Description | So BOI has the mechanic where energy gives you one bar every room, and when you fill up (which happens every X rooms), you can use your active again. This limits flexibility, because the only way they support a multi-use-per-room item is with a timer. Your system currently is the opposite: it supports multi-uses per room, but there's no support for a device so strong that it can only be used once per several rooms. Why not have the best of both worlds? Rather than filling up completely between rooms, give X energy per room. This gives you the ability to have weak devices that fire multiple times per room, and strong devices that fire once per several rooms. Once this is a variable, you can also play with it. Different mechs can have different base recharge rates (per room). You could also have items that modify this per-room recharge rate.

I thought about this a _lot_ and really was considering doing this -- before you even made the suggestion, actually. But I ultimately felt like this would lead to people trying to count out their energy too much per room. Getting people to just fluidly play, and know how many shots they have per room, is something we're driving toward with the new versions. Not quite there yet, but this would fly in the face of that. |
