Summary | 0018163: Minor laundry main menu/intro UI criticisms
Description | I trust that a lot of this will be addressed as said in the next few updates, but I thought they were worth listing together immediately as a first impression before hopping into gameplay. * Gamepad (Xbox One in this case) is only able to go back through menus; would highly suggest full functionality soon! * Right click during intro brings up Continue/Tutorials/New Run/Stats UI with seemingly no go-back-to-root option. Could cause some confusion until the user decides to press ESC to go back to the main menu (continue is greyed). Should disable it during the intro, and/or add an option to go back to the main menu on that particular screen. * Text scroll during the intro begins before the actual text is displayed; there's like half a second of blank after Next until most of the first sentence is displayed. Minor and likely noted by everyone else already. * Should be able to click anywhere on the screen (or just the text box) to Hurry Up or switch to next page instead of having only the option to click the button. * As Castruccio mentioned before in @0018128, the 11/11 intro text is too long and becomes obstructed by the Next/OK button. * Intro Next/OK button is not centered. End of the world. * End of the world x2. The Starward Rogue logo disappears when pressing any button on 'Are you sure you want to quit' dialogue. * In-game ESC menu is confusing with highlighted and unlit button backgrounds and text. Consider renaming Exit Game to Back to Main Menu, and option to Exit to Desktop. * Master volume slider possible? * If possible for gamepad binding convenience, have a reference image for the more common controllers instead of a list of bindings and representation of buttons as 1/2/...9. If we somehow end up with extra development time or down the road, please highly consider a proper binding menu overlaying the reference images that you can port over to future game projects. Also consider adding a View Controls to the main ESC menu for quick reference even though it's only another click away in Settings.
