Summary0001923: AI ships not abandoning guard posts.
DescriptionI'm seeing this very often; AI ships aren't abandoning their guard posts when the posts and command station are destroyed.

On Rhonkar's Might in the save, ships are apparently still patrolling around on the planet (assuming between the post locations where they were destroyed), and some still sit at where the posts/command stations were.

Ok, I definitely see weirdness there, my guess is that most of the starships are stuck in planetary-roamer or something like that, but there's lots of stuff just sitting there (like that chunk of snipers) that doesn't make any sense. Will look at it later when I get a chance.

They're not actually getting freed some/most of the time when they go into command center defense mode. I don't think they all go into the threat counter either. Some might, but not all I don't think.

They're very attached to their guard posts.

Suzera is right with them not getting freed in that case. Also: there's only a 50% chance of ships abandoning their guard posts with the command station. If that's what you're seeing, then it's working correctly.

But if you destroy a command station, all the ships that were guarding _the station itself_ should be freed, no exceptions, right?

Same deal for the actual guards of a specific guard post when that post goes poof.

Yeah. A few might look bugged around a dead post from other posts that are still alive if other posts' ships bug out on the way to/from a fight though.

Whatever it was is long-since fixed. When I load it in the later versions, they all bumrush the wormhole now.
