Summary0001998: FRD activates units in sequence instead of in groups
DescriptionIn my current game I'm finding that Free Roaming Defender takes a while to trigger on the entire fleet of FRD units I have on a given planet. Depending on the size of the force, it can take between 10 and 30 seconds for them all to respond to any incoming threats.

This is correct, the game only runs so many "generate list of targets" operations per frame to keep large fleets from resulting in heavy lag.

Just to clarify: it does recognize the difference between a get-target-list operation when it has to scan only 5 enemy ships and one where it has to scan 2000. So if you have 1000 ships in frd and only a few AI ships are wandering through they should process through much faster than if 1000 AI ships are wandering through.

Alright, cool.

Though it seems like some method should be taken to get everyone moving against larger groups faster? Could something be programmed in that if a large enough force of enemy units enters the planet, all FRD forces will target the same ship to get them all moving, and then it runs through the normal get-target list operation to break off attack groups as they're all moving?
