Notes: Changing (special_entity_type="Ark") to (special_entity_type="Builder") makes it show up in build menus. Giving it a constructor name names it appropiately. Trying to build anything causes the icon to be highlighted, but no progress to be made. I have so far tried increasing the metal flow, moving the metal flow line around (it's currently sitting in the weapon system bracket), removing the initial penalty (same as increasing flow), removing the ignores bit, with no results. Compared it to the Mobile Space Dock for an example of a mobile constructor unit. Nothing stands out, it all checks as okay. Continuing at a later time, game is starting to become an obsession. |

Extra Note: https://forums.arcengames.com/ai-war-ii/ai-war-2-v0-761-released!-'a-badger-and-a-puffin'/ The post by zharmad here mentions Mobile Space Docks no longer able to build in enemy territory. My Void Home was upgraded in said territory. I'd imagine, seeing as there are no errors or differences really between Void Home and said Space Docks, that fixing that error will fix this one. I'd look at this bit, from one of the updates recently: "A variety of the civilian ships and docks can now be built on enemy planets, thus making beachheads viable. There was previously a bug making EVERYTHING buildable on enemy planets, so it was viable previously anyhow. Since that bug is fixed, if there are any missing things that need to be buildable in enemy territory, please let us know." It was before this version. MSDs were working in the one before this, so the bug occured now. Still, might be a lead. |

It was actually a loooot more complicated than that, unfortunately. But I rooted out a ton of bugs as part of fixing this, so that's good. :) * Fixed the selection ring scale for all the various Arks to be what they were pre-pivot. It was woefully undersized in the current version, leading to them being very hard to select. ** That is what the size_scale attribute does, if anyone else is seeing ones they want to tweak further. * Added a constructor name and description for Gyrn. ** Also made the constructor names for the other constructors more brief. * Any ships that have the ability to build via build menus now show up as constructors that will make them appear on the sidebar. * Fixed the BuildingShipsInternally metal_flow to be properly on the actual entity definition for Gyrn, rather than accidentally under its weapon system. This had been preventing it from working properly, previously, as well. * When hovering over a constructor in the docks menu, it now shows you the BuildingShipsInternally speed in metal per second there, too. * When the throughput of BuildingShipsInternally is missing or less than 0, the sidebar now skips showing you what would otherwise be a builder (useful for those things that become builders at higher marks, like Gyrn). * Fixed a bug where you could drive yourself into negative metal using matter converters. * Matter converters now stop producing energy while your stored metal is zero. ** This is true for any ships that have a negative metal production. * When a ship is disabled, the reason for that is now shown in red at the bottom of its tooltip; before it wasn't always clear why it was disabled. Yeah, that all resulted from this one report! |
