| Description | From an email: Right now the tutorial is limited to programatic detection of conditions. Something actually needs to change about the game state for the tutorial to show new text. If there were the ability to say "Click here once you've finished reading so I can show you more text" that would be useful. If the code could do something like this: "Hi, welcome to AIW2, here are the camera controls. Click here to continue" "Okay, now lets learn about the basic structures on a planet. Click here to continue" "Now lets learn about the HUD. Click here", it would really improve the ability to teach efficiently. However, if you can't go backwards through previous log messages then the above technique is going to wind up frustrating people because they will say "Oh, what did that symbol mean? It was explained earlier, but I can't go backwards so I don't remember". If the Log here could be like the AIWC Journal, where you could read older messages, that would be great. Plus it would mean that we could reuse the Journal technique to give flavour to the main game. Like when the player finds the Dyson Sphere, they would get access to a Lore entry that would give the Dyson Sphere some character. | ||||
