Summary | 0020682: Some feedback (Fleets)- Copy and paste from Steam Discussions
Description | This is from Lyravega but I really like the ideas and they were asked to post their feedback here. I do not see it here and it was posted 2 days ago so I am copying it here for them. Galaxy map confuses me, a lot in fact. Let me elaborate a little, so you may see where I'm coming from. I have a control group, then I engage the AI... then issue another order and all of a sudden chaos ensues. Half of my fleet is obeying my order, while the reinforcing (newly built) ships are obeying the last order... In the aftermath, some of my ships are in one system, some in another, and some in other. I don't remember the galaxy map confusing me this much in the first game, I'll reinstall it just to be sure later... but for now, galaxy map confuses me a lot. I have a suggestion regarding the control groups. Rename them to "Fleets". I mean it feels like this is what you guys are trying to achieve. Have fleets act like one; when an order is issued to a fleet (while the fleet is selected in other words), have all ships obey that order. If the attack-move and/or group-move is selected, have the newly built ships be in those modes as well. More on the Fleets, have a pause button on the fleet toggles (attack-move, etc...) as well. The idea is ordering all of the "linked" docks to pause/resume all at once. Also, having fleets displayed all the time (sins of a solar empire-like, in a way) somewhere on the screen, maybe with numbers and small icons might be very handy. Currently, I smash all of the keys till I find the right one, and you don't get to see how others are doing, hence this suggestion. And last suggestion (for today!) I have regarding this fleet idea is, having a number displayed next to the system perhaps. Like if I have 3 fleets in one system, and 2 in the other, having relative numbers displayed on the galaxy map so we'll know which fleet is where. Sorry, it's a bit late, cannot write properly, I'll leave this here for now. If I sound offensive apologies as it wasn't my intention. Loved AI War I and just want AI War II to outperform the first in every way.
