Description | In the most literal sense. Total Metal gain with no construction: 3047 M/s Total Metal gain while building Mk1 Shield: 2546 M/s Total Metal gain with one Mk1 Engineer Assisting: -2196 M/s Total Metal gain with one Mk1 Engineer Assisting after about 5 seconds: -199 M/s In the XML, self construction for the Mk1 shield is 500 metal/s, and it uses 501 metal/s In the XML, engineers are supposed to assist construction at a rate of 750 metal/s, but it actually assists for 4743 metal/s? After a bit, the rate drops down to 2745 metal/s. The total amount an engineer can assist for is 4750, 1k hp, 1k shield, 1k engine, 750 construction, 500 self construction (?), 500 claiming. I can maybe understand the engineer assisting for 2750 (hp, shields, construction), but there seems to be an issue with the engineer also repairing the engines, self constructing /something/, and reclaiming the shield as it builds for a bit? The time it takes to fully self construct with no assistance: 160 seconds (80,000 / 160 = 500 m/s self construction, normal) The time it takes to fully construct with one Mk1 engineer: 32 seconds (80,000 / 32 = 2500 m/s; 500 - self, 750 - assistance, 1250 - ????, not normal?) (also overall metal per sec doesn't match observed rate?) For one, I think one of the bugs is from engineers "healing" a structure that isn't even built yet, any other's I have no clue. | ||||

A thought before I check out: The 2500 metal per second might be able to be explained in a different way than 500/750/1250. Maybe what's happening is since structures were changed to start with 1 hp and 1 shield, the engineer is only assisting with hp and shield during construction: 500 self / 1000 hp / 1000 shield. Testing this: upping only the heal assist and shield assist to 3000 per second gives a build time of 16 seconds or 5000 metal per second overall. Increasing the metal per second of the engineer by 4000 only increased the rate of assist by 2500. The hotfix made to change structures to heal over time did some wonky things. |

Yes, this issue was that engineers were healing hull and shield of structures under construction, I think you just submitted the last bug fix where this would have still occurred if you put a structure in hold fire mode while it's building. |
