Summary | 0021024: Add a new hack: Redesign Uncaptured Fleet
Description | Original notes: This would basically re-roll the contents of the fleet… ideally giving you a popup of three or five options to choose from, or saying “no just keep the existing contents.” I can make an interface for this, but we need to have some discussions about it. This would only work for fleet centerpieces that you have not yet captured. Today's notes: There are SO MANY fleets now that I'm not sure that this is a good idea. Maybe better to just play things as you find them? At any rate it does not seem urgent.

It's a cool idea, though tricky, so I think you're right about it being able to wait. Seems like it would be very strong, so presumably it would have a high hacking cost. Might have the effect of causing players to avoid taking certain fleets until they possess the hacking points to adjust them to their liking, which is probably undesirable though it could be argued that this is an interesting strategic choice. If there aren't other ways to fill out gaps in your arsenal (e.g., if you end up without any siege frigates), this would provide that option by giving you extra chances to fill them. The 'wild card' option I saw suggested elsewhere seems like a better solution to that problem, though. If this hack was implemented, I think you'd want to keep the number of ship types in the fleet (for the hacked options) constant to avoid an incentivize to hack a fleet purely for a higher quantity of ship types. |

I think the ability to swap ship lines between fleets basically solves this |
