Description | If we are to start with 20% of the 15 pike turrets, that only leaves us with 3 pike turrets to defend planets, assuming no GCAs or its not a military station. Early game especially, this gives the ai quite a few blind spots for it to whittle away at human players (i.e, if a friendly planet is connected to one ai planet that sends snipers and sent. gunboats, and another ai planet that sends raptors and raiders, do you place your turrets at the wormhole, or near your command center?). I'd suggest around 1.25x to 1.5x range. | ||||

That's what the defensive flagships are for, also you start with one battlestation and that can help too if you really need to keep a planet with inconvenient wormhole placement. |

You start with 24 now, so you would have 5 to begin with. Battlestations and Augmenters would drastically increase that, and are the reason why it was done anyhow. |
