Summary | 0021637: Can't give a move order at a location where there is already a unit
Description | Sometimes you want to order your whole pack of units to move over a bit to the left, so you have to click into the pack itself, some offset from the center. But to achieve that you actually need to zoom in and find a gap of free space in-between your units! Any right-click over your own units is simply ignored. AI War 1 didn't have this behavior, and right-clicking your own units serves no purpose (only exception I know of being with engineers, to assist construction or repair), so this seems like an oversight.

This is strictly an issue when you have a unit with the ability to heal /build units is selected. And since each flagship has the ability to rebuild command stations and turrets from remains, this will happen any time you select a fleet with the flagship. |

Thanks for the insight. It's good to understand why it happens, but unfortunately it doesn't make it any less of an issue. Most of the time your flagships will be selected when you move a fleet. To try and salvage the rebuilding ability of flagships, perhaps they could have a rebuilding "aura" (instead of a targeted order), that causes all remains to slowly rebuild if a flagship is present in the system - you can always assist with combat engineers to make things go faster. |
