Summary | 0021662: Can't build over Transports
Description | Haven't tested with all kinds of transports (like officer fleets for example) but at least as far as the normal Strike Fleet transports go you can't place structures above them as if they count as strucutres. Also, it's quite annoying that the thing you try to place disappears when you hover over a ship. Any way to turn that off?

The second issue I can definitely fix, but the flagships acting like structures was an intentional change. People were often having flagships get pushed out of position by placing structures on top of them, in such a way that something that was under a forcefield might decollide out of the forcefield area. |
Isn't there some way to make a priority list when it comes to things? Priority 1 (doesn't move, can be placed over everything other than priority 1 stuff): Fixed Structures Priority 2 (can be placed over everything of priority 3 and 4): Forcefields Priority 3 (doesn't decollide unless it has to due to things from priority 1 and 2): Flagships Priority 4 (always decollides with everything): Ships and everything else |
Also, to avoid issues like forcefields moving god-knows-where when decolliding and flagships moving into the enemy side of the map, stuff should only decollide when it's overlapping things of lower and equal priority value (as in a forcefield will take priority over flagships and ships, but still decollide with other forcefields and of cause fixed structures), and when placed (especially by auto-build) objects also only take into account that which has a lower or equal priority value (so that factories, turrets, etc don't care if they are overlapping ships when being placed). |
It already attempted to do that, essentially. There may be some logic issues. But it has an extra thing also saying "can't place stuff over a ship of certain types." |
Thanks! * Fixed an incredibly annoying issue where the thing you're trying to place would disappear when you mouse over an existing ship. |
