Summary | 0021706: Tooltip - Display a list of existing ship types related to a bonus
Description | Following this discussion on Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/app/573410/discussions/0/1628538707071656999/ --- Ozone: Another great alternative would be to assist the player with ships matching a specific rule. For instance, you read "Bonus x5 vs light-hulls", that's great, now tell me which ships the AI has which are light-hull so I can destroy them. A reverse usage of this information, I could take a peek at the AI ships and see which of my fleet are the worse to send into a fight. If most AI ships are strong against Bombers; I could swap bombers for something else. You do this for the Tech Tree, and it's super useful. Same idea for the bonuses here. --- More info: See the picture below as an example. > "Attack Bonus: If the target has armor of at least 90mm" This information is interesting, but to find which ships match this bonus, you have to roam the Galaxy manually and click various ship types until you find one with this trait. It would be very useful to have a list of potential, existing, ship types matching this characteristic: - "Attack Bonus: If the target has armor of at least 90mm (Fortified Tesla Guardian, Tractor Guardian, Carrier Guardian)" The list may be too long, and not possible in the tooltip; in that case, a dedicated "Tactical Screen" could be created to offer all this information to the player. (a bit similar to the strengths screen from AI War 1, but more factual this time) Bonus feature: Give a count of the number of actual enemy ship types (on the watched planets) and sort them from highest count to lower count. "(62x Fortified Tesla Guardian, 46x Tractor Guardian, 14x Carrier Guardian)"

I think this is much-needed. I can't for the life of me remember the target numbers when trying to find a counter. (I actually find it easier in AI War 1 because I can actually stick the word "Polycrystal" in my mind and then visually scan all ship tooltips for it fairly efficiently.) The game really needs some kind of hyperlink navigation or tooltip-ception, honestly. But for the immediate need, the list of ships that have damage bonuses or damage weaknesses against a specific ship would be perfectly suited for the C-click view. |
