I have been tied up in marketing stuff and press stuff all day, but this seems really serious if this is really what's happening. I'm shocked nobody else is reporting it, though, if this is the case. Is there something specific about this savegame or your circumstances, potentially?

I won't have time to look into it until tomorrow, but this definitely seems concerning.

"This unit is currently hacking and can't leave the planet" <-- In the tooltip.
You're currently hacking the command augmenter and can't leave for that reason.

The UI should be more explicit about this fleet being tied up, starting with the text in the tooltip not blending so much in the rest. I was thinking of showing some kind of beam between the hacking flagship and the target, or just some "binary" particles flying off if the hack targets the planet.

The flagship in question is in the middle of a hack. Hacking flagships can't leave the system. Perhaps the hovertext for "Hacking flagships can't leave the system" needs to be bright red?

If anything this is a "We can give better feedback to the user" bug

Hah, well timed Asteroid. I've updated the hacking Notification tooltip to remind the player that the hacker can't leave the planet.

I like the notion of putting a "Hacking Beam" in place. "That shouldn't be too hard," he said unwisely.

Asteroid, does making a beam graphic like the Repair or Reclaim beam sound like a thing you'd like to do? Or shall I just reuse one of the existing beams.

I've added a line between the hacking unit and the hacked unit as a reminder to the player. Great suggestion from Asteroid. I'm currently using the Claim line (since that's the least frequently seen line), but if Asteroid or Chris would like to add another line then they're free to tweak the code I added to use the new line.
