Summary | 0022082: AI War 2 - "Increase Dyson Max Strength" and "Increase Dyson Unit Production" hacks not using Hacking Points | ||||
Description | Hello, I have encountered a few bugs related to Dyson Sphere hacking in AI War 2. 1) I hacked a Dyson Sphere to "Increase Dyson Max Strength." The Hack Sidebar said that this would cost 20 Hacking Points, but the Hacking Summary (accessed by holding your mouse over your hacking points) states that 0 Hacking Points were actually used. 2) Also, I expected the Dyson units (e.g., Dyson Defender) to increase from Mk. 1 to Mk. 2 upon completing the hack, but they remained at Mk. 1. Additionally, I could not see that any stats for the Dyson units had changed after completing the hack. (e.g., HP, shields, weapon strength, eg., remained unchanged). 3) The "Increase Dyson Unit Production" Hack Sidebar also said that the hack would cost 20 Hacking Points, but the Hacking Summary states that 0 Hacking Points were used. I can't tell if the unit production actually increased, or not, but I suspect it did not change because 0 Hacking Points were used. For both hacks, I left my fleet transport on the world and ran down the Hacking timer until the timer completed and the Dyson Sphere became an "Aggravated Dyson Sphere" and spawned a hostile reaction fleet. Therefore, I believe that the hack completed, just that the reward did not accrue (e.g., Dyson strength did not increase and Dyson production rate did not increase). I have attached screenshots of the Hacking Summary depicting 0 points were charged for the "Increase Dyson Max Strength" and "Increase Dyson Unit Production" hacks, and a save after completing the hacks. Dyson Defenders are upgraded via the Tech Menu. I believe Fusion and Medium upgrade them |

These hacks will now show the number of hacking points used in the Hacking Log. Note that it will not retroactively apply to any previously done hacks. |

Thanks, but I think the Tech menu only upgrades my ships, not the Dyson faction's ships, right? I don't have any Dyson units, I was trying to increase the strength of the Dyson faction with the hack. I just double-checked, and none of the Tech upgrades state that they affect Dyson units. What is the intended effect of the "Increase Dyson Max Strength" hack? Is some parameter other than Mark affected? If so, maybe the hack tooltip should clarify what is affected? Thanks again! |

See note below - "Increase Dyson Max Strength" hack should affect mark of Dyson Faction, not player's units. |

That's not why Dyson Max strength means. The Dyson Sphere has a cap to the total number of units it's allowed in the galaxy, and the hack increases that cap. |

The Tech Menu upgrades the Dyson Ships you have in your fleets. |
