Summary | 0022305: AI keeps sending regular waves at Neutral planets
Description | In this game of AI civil War, the AI's keeps sending wave after wave of ships at neutral planets, despite them 1. not having a Usurper and 2. not having Reconquest waves unlocked yet. (Yes, they are set to be able to set reconquest waves). My homeworld is surrounded by 3 AI planets. This is basically just threat waves. And since there's an option to turn them off (they are disabled in my game), this seems lame.

So if I recall, the reason this was done was to handle the case where civil war waves would land on an AI planet, snipe the command station, and then never clear out the rest of the defenses, leading to very long drawn out stalemates that were boring. The AI should be able to send waves against heavily defended neutral planets. Is that what's happening here? |

Kind of? But I used "Kill enemies" to destroy everything on it. Then (Lets separate the AIs into AI 1 and AI 2) AI 2 sent a wave at it (nothing there, mind you) and left ships there (I guess they were waiting around to turn to Threat). Then AI 1 sees that there are AI 2 ships on the Neutral planet and sends its own wave there. But wait! Now there are AI 1 ships on the planet. Looks like AI 2 needs to send another wave there. AI 1 doesn't like that. It is compelled to send a wave to the planet. Basically it's a cycle of sending waves to fight over a neutral planet that didn't have anything on it when the first wave was sent (because I used debug to destroy everything on it). |
|
It should only be looking at turret strength, not ship strength, when deciding whether it's allowed to send a wave. |
|
There was a bug in my "detect turrets on planet" code |
