Description | My main issue with AI in this game is that it's too predictable and I can easily settle into a one-size-fits-all strategy due to the AI not doing anything to counterplay what I'm doing. I believe a way to solve this issue would be to add an "adaptive" AI type that cycles between all the other AI types while the game is in progress. For example, it could switch from special forces master to turtle, then to quadratic and then ghost. The AI type changing in this fashion would potentially create an extremely unexpected and deadly series of actions from the AI in a way that no existing AI is capable of.
In terms of implementation, I think it could be added at the bottom of the AI list as a brutal type AI, and then the difficulty the player sets it to will determine its likelihood of picking each AI type since they're now classified on difficulty. IE, diff 5 adaptive AI is unlikely to cycle into golemite to build golems, while diff 9 AI is unlikely to cycle into simple ensemble. |
