Summary0022811: Anti-Player Zombies are allied to the "Master AI"
DescriptionIt turns out that Anti-Player Zombies are allied to the first AI added to the game (aka the default one that you can't delete from the lobby). In Civil War, that can lead to the Second/Third/Fourth/etc AI having to deal with double the strength.
(You can see the "Master AI" by hovering over a save file in the lobby.)

However, if you fix this interaction, if one AI is a Zombifier and the AIs are in Civil War, the player is going to get blasted by Anti-Player Zombies that normally wouldn’t attack you (because they’d fight the other AIs). So, it’s a lose-lose situation as of right now. Plus if it gets fixed so they attack neither AI, watching them fight via Friendly AI would be almost impossible with mass amounts of Anti-Player Zombies sitting around.

In the save there is a lone Orange AI ship. Watch it get zombified and then attack and be attacked by the Pink Ai.

I will fix the zombie thing eventually.

I'm actually fine with all the zombies going after the player though during Civil War. The Civil War is intended to be crazy and super hard. You also need to have been strong enough to send fleets to close to every AI overlord, so you'd better be ready. Starting the game in Civil War mode is intended to not have bugs, but not guaranteed to be possible.


The other option is to have "Anti-Player Zombies" really be "Allied to this AI faction Zombies", but not sure if that's interesting.

This has been changed in Version 2.605 (which results in Anti-Player zombies being allied to all AI's in Civil War)

Fix a number of bugs related to the allegiance of AI-allied minor factions during a civil war, causing them to ally with one AI in particular.
