Summary | 0023293: A number of suggestions
Description | I've played the game quite a lot, and have a number of suggestions, mainly GUI stuff to make things simpler. 1. Swapping ship lines: I can't speak for others, but for me when using the Swap Ship Lines function between different, fleets, the vast majority are transfers; i.e. a swap with an empty slot. Only this becomes increasingly bothersome as the number of total ship lines and fleets swells. So I propose to replace the Swap function with a "Transfer": click the Transfer button, and a list of all other fleets is displayed, and you simply click on the fleet you wish to transfer the ship line to. 2. Sorting/Filtering options for the Build and Fleets menus: Later in the game, both of these become pretty long. Especially confusing with the Build menu when the player controls many GCAs and also has Battlestations/Citadels on the planet. So I think being able to filter by fleet and sort by Mark Level would be in order. And I think Spire fleets should have their own tab in the Fleets section. 3. Talking of the Spire, taking care of all the cities and fleets later on is a hassle. Especially seeing which fleets require rebuilding of escorts after a big battle, and seeing which Cities have free slots. So maybe some kind of marker symbol, in the Fleets tab or the map, for a). Fleets who need a Shipyard and b). Cities who have available slots? Also, I think the Spire Debris map icon only becomes visible when having vision on the planet, but since the player knows where they are anyway, I think they always should be visible. 4. Quickly finding a planet knowing only its name: As far as I know, there isn't a way to do this except manually looking through the map; not fun on a 80 planet map and a nightmare on 160. If clicking on a planet name in the chat automatically switched the view there, things would be much easier. Or having an alphabetically sorted directory of planets where I could click on one to immediately switch there would be nice too. 5. Another thing about Spire Debris: I like the idea of it and it forces the player to make hard strategic choices, but sometimes it becomes an annoying chore. So being able to set whether and how much Debris spawns at the beginning wouldn't be remiss, I believe. OK, that turned out to be more than I intended. I know you have a hell of a lot to do right now, just wanted to put this out there to consider for later. I hope this was helpful.

Just wanted to mention one thing: Cities which have free slots actually are marked, their map symbol with have a number on it corresponding to their number of free slots. |

Ah, now that you mention it, I see it. Thanks! |
