Summary | 0023396: Melee ships when on "attack-move" command (x) don't actually attack things. | ||||
Description | Ships on attack-move command get new targets once their old one is dead or outside range. Melee ships however, since they have 0 range, don't attack anything and just stand still. It's really annoying, because I have to either manually target (hundreds) of individual ships, or use the attack-roam mode (v) to let them go after targets, but then they go to far and get killed, or kill things I don't wanna kill, or activate reinforcements, etc. My suggestion is to give the melee ships a small range when considering possible targets, something like 2/3 of a v-wing range. This way, they'll at least attack targets nearby without the need to manually click each individual target. | ||||

They perform better when "Attack methodically" is turned off in the options. That's how it went for my last Melee-focused game. Otherwise they indeed are terrible. Even with the option off I do often see 7-8 seconds since last shot fired on metabolism saws. |

Is this still happening on the most recent patch? |

I tested it, and it seems it's improved. |
