Summary0023404: Shield Generators try, but are awful at returning back to where they were after being pushed by an astral train.
DescriptionCould you add a bit of code so that after being force moved, they will try harder to return to where they were? They seem to move back in a little, but then stop trying, so I think there must be some code in there already doing something on this line.

This makes micro management so much worse when using astral trains, and not in a fun way.

If you have a save of them not returning to their positions that might be helpful. Code for FFs to return to where they were before they got bumped does exist.

I need a save game to be able to work this problem. Ideally one from shortly before the astro train pushes the force field.

I'll get that to you tomorrow, for now, I sleep.

I noticed this and thought, wait, I had that game where this drove me mad, I bet I could find a save that would do this easily.
It needs Spire Railgun Shop (It was my first testgame.), but that shouldn't interfere. The train is about to enter the homeworld and path straight through the central forcefield stack over my home command station. I've deleted enough stuff that it should survive to do so.

So there are two different issues here. Lord of Nothing's problem is that Home Force Field generators just weren't set to return after being bumped. That is now fixed.

Puppet Master's problem is that the force fields started to return to the correct locations, but they got bumped again as they were en route, which disrupted the movement. This is a pretty extreme corner case, since there are only a handful of units in the game that can bump forcefields. I've now improved this case, though I doubt it's perfect.
