DescriptionI'm sure this is not intended, poor guy. As the title says, the AI will attack and kill the trader on site. If need be I can upload a save, but I think it might honestly be faster to test by just making a game with it enabled and watching all planets debug on. He doesn't seem to cause the guard posts to release their guards, at least.

Can confirm this myself. Save shouldn't be needed, it happens every single time. I think it's because the game considers it to be allied with the player, not neutral as should logically be the case.

Is the damage permanent? As in is the trader faction just gone for the rest of the game?

No, it respawns in a little bit.

Anyway, I think I found a (temporary) solution via XML

Go to AI War 2/ GameData/ Configuration/ GameEntity/ KDL_Ships_Factions.xml.

Then scroll down to the Zenith Trader entry.

Change the "Priority_as_ai_Target" from

priority_as_ai_target="Not dangerous" priority_as_frd_target="Not Dangerous" priority_to_protect="IgnoreMe"

to
priority_as_ai_target="IgnoreMe" priority_as_frd_target="IgnoreMe" priority_to_protect="IgnoreMe"

I just played a test game and none of the Roaming Guardians or AI Guardposts got triggered/alerted and nothing fired on it.

It might mean that the Nanocaust doesn’t target it, but it’s at least usable until a proper fix is in.

Here's some proof (see attached Screenshots). Notice that despite time advancing, the Guardians did not shoot it and the Trader did not lose health.

I'm playing a game with 4 AIs and so far I have noticed that one of them always attacks the trader, and one other does not. Not sure about the other two.

So it turns out that in my case only 1 of the 4 AIs is hostile to the Trader, and it's the one I added last after everything else.
In this save all four AIs have forces on the planet the Trader is on, and only one of them fires on the Trader.
