Description | Posted about this in the Discord last night, credit to StrategicSage for confirming while I was asleep. Set up a save, watch the only non-homeworld planet which is actively under attack, the GCA will not give AIP on death. I also experienced Zenith Power Generators (The ones from trader) not giving AIP on death, but that was a modded game and was not independently confirmed. I did not have the setting one for dies to remains for ZPG, though that doesn't stop the AIP increase anyways, according to the Discord. There is also a Lost Asteroid Mine on the planet, which will correctly give +1 AIP. | ||||

Is permadeath enabled for such structures? If not, then they shouldn't give AIP when they become ruins. |

Awhile ago, they would repeatedly give AIP each time they died when permadeath was disabled. Was this changed? |

The intent was to prevent that, yes |

Hm... could the AIP increase still be triggered for only the first death? It seems like cheating if you don't have any reason to defend them after disabling permadeath. |

GCAs do permanently die, yes. No AIP is dispensed when it does. |

Does this happen when permadeath for structures is off? If this is only when there is an unusual setting on (permadeath disabled), then this is a much lower priority issue and one I'm going to wait until after multiplayer to deal with. If this is something that is happening with a more typical game setup, this is something I need to get on sooner. |

I really do hope they don't give AIP on death if permadeath is disabled, even for the first time. |

Tested, on CF admittedly, but I have no changes that...should affect it, I think. The only thing I did to AIP was make it also give Hacking, but that just's an extra line underneath each bit. WITH permadeath, the GCA dies, and adds no AIP. WITHOUT permadeath, the GCA reverts to netural, and adds AIP. This AIP is given every time it dies. |

Holy cow! So it's backwards?? Let me try a quick fix, then, and see what you can retest if you don't mind it. |

Hi Chris, the GCAs permadeath setting was on for me and StrategicSage, nobody has independently confirmed Zenith Power Generators, but I believe that had permadeath enabled, as well. The setting in the test save are the default, harvesters off, everything else on. |

Looks like a simple boolean inversion from me, circa July 23rd. Should be fixed now, but verification would be awesome: * Fixed a pretty huge bug where if certain entities died to remains (rather than permadeath), they would give AIP every time they died to remains, but when the normal permadeath setting was on they gave no AIP. This was the opposite of our intention and has apparently been incorrect since July 23rd. ** This meant that things like GCAs, etc, would not give their proper AIP on death. Thanks! |
