| Description | One GUI item that I've noticed more than one person struggle with is knowing whether or not a fleet is "in-transit" from the galaxy map after issuing an order, and where it's destination is.
Badger mentioned that "you can hover the unit and it should tell you where its going in the tooltip," but my idea for implementation would be to have a moving/animated, dashed, player-colored line along the route of a fleet or fleets that are currently selected to their final destination(s). Graphically I'm thinking something similar to the moving dashed line you see when an invading wave is counting down, but player-colored.
I feel that this would not only present the information in a more usable format, but in fact provide additional information as well (showing every system the fleet will pass through to it's destination). This pathing line is already displayed in a similar capacity when a fleet is selected and the cursor is hovered over any system in the galaxy view, showing the route a fleet will take. |
