Summary | 0023976: Attack-move exhibits Pursuit-like or just downright weird behaviors
Description | In the joined save, Enter planet Enigma, select fleet 1, turn on attack-move. Notice some Daggers immediately start to head towards the Unarmed Guard Post near the Tierce wormhole. Now right-click near the Tertius wormhole. Notice those Daggers STILL keep going in the opposite direction. Now click again on the same spot. FINALLY the Daggers get the message. Some history to help elucidate: those ships were previously attacking the Unarmed Guard Post near Tierce. Then I switched off attack-move to move them near the Tertius wormhole to intercept fleeing units. Expected behavior: - Just turning on attack-move should enable kiting, and that's it. Units should keep attacking targets nearby, not head off somewhere else. - Clicking for an attack-move order should work the first time around instead of having to click multiple times.

Sorry, I'm not sure if this is the correct savegame. There's no planet enigma, and the planet that has your fleet 1 on it doesn't have any daggers. Attack move mode is just like pursuit mode, except that ships should not run after anything that is out of their range. So if the guard post you are talking about is in range of the daggers, then their behavior is absolutely justified. If the guard post is out of range, then it is a bug. Them not listening to your commands is a bug, either way. |

I've reopened the save to double-check and reuploaded just in case. See attached screenshots of the problem. Also, I just realized that having just added a simple custom mod to my game is gonna suddenly make sharing saves a lot more annoying for both of us... an annoying conundrum. I guess you already figured it out, but here's the mod I'm using in that save https://www.dropbox.com/s/hhoqufaza4iebel/FleetHub.7z?dl=0 |

I took the liberty to remove the link to another issue, as I think it was misleading. This is a completely separate topic, most likely a bug. |
