Description | So lets start with the good. This is exactly the sort of changes that I was hoping for. It looks great! I couldn't be happier overall. And now some nitpicking. Something looks a bit off about the "AI War 2" text in the Hanger Scene. There is a light source hitting the wall tiles from above, but it isn't hitting those letters. You can see the "A" in AI War 2 occluding some of the brightly lit wall tiles. I think the "Arcen" logo looks great because it's a bit thicker and is casting a realistic shadow, so it looks like it's really part of the wall. Also, what about if the starfield outside the hanger was moving a bit more slowly? It feels like the hanger must be moving really fast in order to have that much change outside the window. If you slowed it down it would probably also deal with Asteroids comments about motion sickness. And it would make it less obvious that the scenery does repeat. The planet flickering "almost" looks like it's a lightning storm on the planet; I think you could resolve it either by making it not flicker, or tweaking it a bit so it looks like lightning. For the "Tech" sidebar, there's now a blue-on-blue effect at the top where it shows how much science you have on a blue background. Could the background blue be made a bit darker? It feels a smidge too bright, and I'd like a bit more contrast between the background and the Science Amount You Have. The Load/Save menus have a problem that I want to see the background picture behind the save/loads, but I can't because my games/campaign names are covering them. I believe modifying these is already on your TODO list. | ||||

Additional: the bottom-left section with the Settings, Chat, Speedup and Slowdown. Could those icons be made just a bit dimmer/darker? |

Have I gotten all of these now? Or is the tech sidebar blue thing still too blue? |

I think the tech menu is fine as I look at it again. Did you wind up slowing the starfield going past the hangar entrance, and resolving the planet visual glitches? |

Oh, I did not on the starfield. I forgot about that one. I will probably have to do another build at some point, so I'll add in that change for whenever that is. |

Figured out a way. :) * The AIWarExternalCode library now links against ArcenThirdPartyCode so that it's able to make changes to certain things in the front-end game. * The main menu now uses a hook to go in and find our custom BetterRotationScript on the background that spins the space skybox, and slows it down substantially compared to prior releases. This saves us the wait of a 40-minute rebuild process, and in theory actually would let us have a variety of random rotations if we felt like it. |

* In fact, since we can, the rotation of the stars in the main menu is now entirely random, but at a much lower overall speed than it was before. It can rotate at a combined maximum velocity that is still only 3/4 of what the prior maximum speed was, and almost all of the time it will be vastly smaller than that. |
