Description | Currently, the only beacon summoned factions you can adjust the str value of are DZS and Maruaders (this might just be kaizers though). All others default to 5 unless you start with them. I suggest this option is added for all the others as well, as they can be pretty underwhelming (especially for nanocaust) at high intensity AI levels. | ||||

So, apparently this option already exists in-game, it's just you have to adjust the strength of them through the view/edit factions menu before activated the beacon. It would feel a lot more intuitive to me for it to be adjustable at the start like everything else. |

I think the reason it is the way it is now is that the original and primary purpose of beacons is for people to be able to add in factions they didn't think to or didn't want to add during setup. |

Yep, these beacon factions don't exist during the lobby phase, because it is assumed you don't want them. There's no place for us to direct you to edit something. If you have beacon factions enabled, then during mapgen it adds these with the defaults, with you able to edit them. If you were to be editing a faction like this during the actual lobby without them having to be awakened, you'd just actually add the faction (and that works fine). Coming next month, you'll be able to start adding random factions, which is more dangerous in certain ways, but has that sort of flexibility of "throw something out there about this dangerous, and it might be a friend or enemy or whatever." And you find out later. |
