Summary | 0025221: Swapping fleet officer to another fleet eats investments.
Description | Simply put take a fleet officer (In this case it was Ark One) fully mark them up to Mark VII via direct upgrades, maybe self-hack them once too. Swap them to another fleet and *all* upgrades vanish. In addition to that it doesn't even keep them as a fleet leader, but instead adds them at the bottom of the fleet list as a regular unit!

Had to backtrack in my saves a bit and refinish the Archive hack for this to be set up for an easy demonstration. Simply upgrade fleet 7, Ark One. Attempt to swap it to be in control of fleet 1. Watch all upgrade investments vanish. You can swap all fleets to it and manually reassign hotkeys without "problems" but that takes more clicks and was what swapping fleet leaders was supposed to make easier. |

I've noticed you can exploit this to get really cheap officer upgrades. mark up a cheap normal transport a couple times, swap with an officer and then the officer now has those mark ups for cheaper than it should be. I can then mark up the officer as if he still were mk.1 cheaply and have it add on. Its like buying lvl 1 science upgrade twice and adding them for cheap. |

Thanks! * The Swap fleet leader no longer actually swaps fleet leaders. This is problematic for a whole lot of reasons (upgrades from techs, upgrades from hacks, history of the fleet leader, drones, and many other things). ** Instead it swaps all of the non-fleet-leader, non-drone lines in the two fleets, thus bypassing this problem. ** There's a bunch of minor interface changes and improvements to get this working fully as well as showing clearly. |
