Summary0025411: Regarding new engineer behaviour
DescriptionI noticed this in the new behaviour in the beta regarding the target list of engineers. I made 2 images to describe what happened. In the first image the two groups 1 and 2 of engis are parked there, respectively assisting the costruction of turret A and B. Group 2 finishes turret B and moves to assist turret C, then, in the second screenshot, after finishing turret A, you can see group 1 move to assist turret B, get in range, realize the turret is already 100% done and then move to turret C.
Now, in this scenario it's not that bad because the turrets are really close, but I'm worried if that happens with structures that sit on the opposite side of planets, especially if the gravity well is huge: engis would spend too much time uselessly travelling.

I also noticed the engineers complete the asteroid powerplants' hull, leave before finishing the personal shields, go towards another powerplant, do the same thing with the hull and then go back and forth between those two powerplants until they're both at 100% shields.
In the screenshot they did this on the marked line.

This is the save. Look in "Hughes", unpause and watch the movement of the engineers when they satrt working on the powerplants. it start at about 16m30s.

Well, in the new version the behavior is very different from that, thankfully, but it's still not correct. :) I'm looking into it.

The engineers do a first run around the planet to start the construction of the powerplants, then they move immediately to start another one. In the screenshot, the red lines indicate the path they did whereas the yellow lines is one of the posible routes they will take next. Wouldn't it be wiser for them to start and finish the construction / claim process for a powerplant before moving to the next one?
The behaviour of moving to a place to do something, then do nothing or realize that what they wanted to do was already done, and moving elsewhere is still present.

Also, when they are moving around to do their constructions, they ignore commands to build something else. When right clicking onto a powerplant, some engis stop for a second, then resume their previous order ignoring yours.
Check the save, they are already moving around, so you just need to right click on some unfinished powerplant to replicate.

I'm looking a bit into the engineer behaviour and they seem to refresh their priorities only after compleating their current order. For example, I added two forcefields, which are definitely more important to build than a powerplant, but the engineers kept going to a particular position far away, continued construction on a powerplant for 1s, then realized "Oh, there's a forcefield on the other side of the planet, let's go there!" and did another 15-20s travel to go build the forcefields. I personally find that extremely annoying, plus, coupled with the ignoring of the commands, it often becomes irritating.
