Summary | 0002758: Spire ships FRD weirdness
Description | When you put the FS-Spire ships on FRD they can have some weird behaviour. As I see it the ships go to a target, it gets shot, but now the Spire ship takes the location of the killed ship, at least near it. I now end up with Spire ships that end up pretty much on top of a gate they are defending, which makes them prime-target for any waves coming out of it (which cause of its range shouldnt be so). Putting them on auto-attack works ok. The save attached doesnt show the issue, but it has a fleet of SF-ships available for testing (controlgroup 6).

Scrap this only happening with Spire ships. I'm starting to think it has something to do with the number of ships on a planet. Wether it is pathing that gets screwed or its a sort of lag having an effect I cant really say, but now that my game has grown a bit and more zombies are patrolling I find regular fleet ships showing the same behaviour. As a group they rush to a gate, the enemy gets killed by something else and most of the group returns to it starting location where some lag behind at the gate. Some of those may return a bit later but a few seem to stick without any human-intervention. |

There have been many times in the past where FRD ships did not always return to their "focal point", just like this issue describes. It was fixed for many versions in the last beta cycle, but some recent change must of broken it again. *sigh* |
