Description | Everyone I know uses them, they are pretty awesome. But a close look makes them look a little overpowered, even with there rare weapon type. They have more health then a comparable Mark bomber, they have decent dps and replicate very quickly. The replication looks fine but stat wise they seem a little buff. Is this intentional? Because from what I've seen they can overpower pound for pound any other fleet ship in a large scale setting, especially once their numbers get to about 5x their ship cap. | ||||

Now that there is a explicit issue about this, now I have found a good place to finally put this suggestion: Make their increase in build points needed to replicate be based on total number of shredders (of the same Mk) above the ship cap belonging to that player, instead of merely the ones on the same planet. This should stop cross planet farming tactics. Also, maybe make their >ship cap rate of growth needed to replicate grow faster, or maybe even put a hard cap on the number each mark can replicate to (though it would be huge, like 5x or greater) Okay, that was three suggestions instead of one, oh well. |

I'm conflicted about this. I'm fairly certain that any fix that makes shredders more reasonable will put a serious dent in my tactics. I make sure to grab the first few zenith caches I see, and by the end game I may have upwards of 2-3,000 shredders between all my worlds. If they're going to be balanced with a hard cap, for example, I hope their survivability is buffed in some other way. I do agree that they're kind of overboard right now though. |

Wouldn't it just be simpler to increase their Energy cost? Let's say double its current amount. You could still use the tactics you want with them but albeit at an increased cost economically. Unless you have lots of Z power generators or lots of territory to support them, massive amounts of shredders wouldn't be viable. |

shredders make the game more fun, I wouldnt want to see them nerfed into oblvivion like parasites were |

With the current economy you can stick MkIII power generators everywhere if you really need a lot of power. |

I don't like doubling there power cost. they can get out of hand sometimes and there is now way to HALT production if your using them, I think economicaly there good where they are. I'm the same way Bob these guys let me actualy WIN games, but thinking about it there a little much of a one stop shopping solution to most fleet battles. So as much as I love and use them, maybe giving there HP a 50% cut would help. |

I think their cap should just be lowered as is. From 1500 to 500 which is 10x their base cap on low cap ships. And increase their hard cap a little as you increase the total ship caps. This will still make them effective for players, but a fair bit less so and not the almost overpowered ships they are now. And they can be, especially when paired with speed boosters. |

My only fear is how much balancing has been done around the assumption that players can have 500 of these per planet if they want. By the end game these could easily make up more than 50% of my fleet numbers. I'll have to try a game with no Zenith ships at all and see how it works out. |
