Summary | 0003115: Make Hybrid Hive Spawners more distinct, and otherwise separate from the larger improvement module network.
Description | Like Data centers, and all the other wonderful targets you want to destroy, the Hybrid hive improvement facilities are quite important in the long-term. While as a whole, the system is a high-value target, only one of the facility pieces is "lose your fleet to kill" worthy, and that's the hive spawn facilities. Rather than having these special buildings identical to the improvers, and needing a manual scan to find them, they should be distinct and large. Something similar to the advanced factory, but build around an imprisoned hive, forced to grow to a size that cannot maneuver without being torn apart by shearing forces. I'm seeing a bloated hive shape with irregular pseudopods, all braced by AI construct. Along with hybrid hives which it builds on a regular basis, it can also use the build points to generate an instant swarm of random core neinzul ships. This could either be a swarm of all kinds, or a specific ship depending on which breeding center it is. This could be taken a step further by giving each Hybrid breeding center an "element" of a normal neinzul ship, giving hybrids spawned there a unique embedded (not separately damageable) module based on that form. Besides minor elemental changes, there's also room for a pair of homeworld Hybrid breeders, making together a total of 5-10% of total possible hybrid generation, so they don't become extinct until the endgame. Additionally, the more breeders you destroy, the Core breeding centers could make more mature hives.
