Summary0003718: Build ships via the architects.
DescriptionWhen you are in an ocean tile -- NOT ocean shallows -- you can deploy the ship. That then puts you up into the ship, and you can sail around on the surface of the ocean. Once you leave that region, then the ship is on the world map (potentially we'll just skip to this step).

The ship can then be moved around on the world map in ocean tiles only, and you see the ship instead of yourself when you are on it. When you try to move the ship onto land, the ship stays behind and you get out.

Possibly the ship can't cross ocean shallows, making you have to use a series of ships to get across oceans.

All of this instead of buoys. It's absolutely as simple a method of vehicular travel as possible, and its both a cleaner and a more fun solution to the trapped-by-oceans problem.

Actually, maybe there should be "ship launch points" in all ocean shallows areas. And once you reach the launch point you can put in a ship which then appears in the world map.

Perhaps anyone who stands on a ship launch point, then moves into the ocean tiles, turns into a ship until they next step onto some land. That way you have to build launch-points on each side of the ocean, to ferry back and forth, but you don't wind up with the other challenges of multiplayer and such being problematic.
