Summary0005660: The timer 00:00 on fortress jumps up and down.
DescriptionNoticed this in 5.024, do not know if previous patches had this.

The 00:00 timer on fortresses jumps up and down from the top to the bottom of the fortress sprite.

No game play effect, just annoying to watch.

I remember this was reported close to early 4.0. Doing a quick test, I'm not seeing it happen on my side, including the mobile repair station.

Hmmm.

Don't have mobile repair unlocked, only fortress. Running a quick check....

Odd. Upon reloading it does not jump around any more.

Close this I guess, I'll reopen if I can figure out what happened.

I can confirm this. I've seen similar strangeness with other "hover text" ships, like science labs and such.

I found that if you zoom in all the way, let it load all of the frames of the "close up" sprite, then you won't have this issue anymore, at any zoom, for the duration of that game instance.

Also, it is most likely to happen when zoomed close to the "cutoff" point to the
"far ship icons" to "close ship sprite", but still far enough out to have the far ship icons.

Also, it seems more likely to happen when the "close up ship sprite" is partially off-screen, and you didn't do the "center on it zoomed in to force it to load" think I mentioned.

Had this happen too. Changing your zoom level, even a little, can fix it. You don't even need to go to go to the close-up sprites. Just mouse-wheel up or down a little until it stops bouncing. Often you can even go back to the old zoom and it won't start bouncing.

Seen it happen on Science Labs too.

Alright.

Reported this issue on Monday after experiencing it, did not see this issue at any time during my sessions on Tuesday or Wednesday.

So, no clue what's going on here, I did not see it again.
