Summary0000703: OSX When prompted to Launch game after install, Installer reports that it can't find the startup program
DescriptionI recently installed from 3.712 to 3.717 and the installer installed all the packages correctly. When the installer was done it prompted to launch AI War. I said yes, and then an error popped up saying it couldn't find the file.

"There has been an error. Error running open /.../AIWar.app : The files /Users/.../AI and /War/AIWar.app do not exist. The application will exit now."

This problem was circumvented by clicking OK and opening the program manually. No files seemed out of place.

PS. The exact same thing happened when installing the 3.718 update.

Hmmmm, I tested this on my mac and could not duplicate. What OS version are you running, and do you mind sharing the full file path of the AI War folder? It might be having trouble with spaces or something goofy like that, I'm not sure.

Ok, here's a screen cap of the error window.

I'm on OSX 10.6.4.

Actually now that you mention it might be an error with spaces in the file path, I see the problem now. I see now that it is indeed splitting the file path at the space.

Oh, is it treating the path as a space-delimited list?

Can we get around that by wrapping it in double quotes, like on windows?

It looks like that is an issue in the updater itself; I'll see what I can do. But that's definitely what it is, thanks so much for the screenshot! Wrapping it in single quotes I think does it.

I've put in a fix for this, but it won't be out until tomorrow when we do the final 4.0 installer -- we can't update the updater directly via the updater, so it has to wait for the installer. Thanks for reporting this!
