Summary0008564: You are safe while reading this
Description"But all my skelebots are going to home in on your position and sit on your character. When you click off to play you are going to have your hands full (evil laugh)"
              Overlord

^^ actually happened to me.

Suggestion: Have the chunk pause when this pops up and resumes when clicked off.
I have been playing for while and still have most of those pop ups enabled as a reminder for whatever reason they were there for.

How would this interact with multiplayer? In fact, how does pause in multiplayer work in general? Is it per chunk? Per region? Per continent? Per server? (I hope it isn't the last two...)

Anyways, another possible fix is to make you "invisible" to enemies when you are invincible due to a pop-up box, sort of like how you are when first entering a door.
Any enemies that have spotted you before the pop-up comes up will "lose sight" of you when you become invisible.

As I don't play multiplayer, I have no idea lol. "Invisible" would work too... just think that having everything home in on the player (that was close to you) while you're "safe" was kinda unfair. Pause was just the first thing I thought of.

I don't think pause is just chunk. I play multiplayer, but try to avoid pause if at all possible because of forcing others to be paused. And I was pretty sure that after clicking OK, you WERE invulnerable until you did some action (like entering a new chunk)

If not, then a few better options to pausing are:
-The "invisible" idea, where it drops your visibility so you are 100% invisible. In this way, monsters won't be able to see you to stick aggro to you while you are reading. As soon as you click OK, you return to normal, and can still be hit by things near you, although nothing will have drawn aggro to you.

-Changing the multiplayer pause so that it is a delayed pause, starting a pause timer that when it reaches 0 will pause you alone, putting you in the invulnerable state, ignoring gravity, and being removed from the area, in terms of enchant containers, boss clears, etc, to avoid being abused. (would also allow for a single player to pause and view data on an enemy without having to pause everyone else!) This message, however, would still instantly pause you in this way. Meanwhile, the normal pause, as in single player, would be moved to a server control ability ("/pausechunk" "/pauseregion" "/pausecontinent" "/pauseworld" "/unpause") that allows for an admin of the server to retain the ability to completely pause an area (but doesn't interfere with the pause status of an individual player, so an admin can't unpause a player, killing them)

-Give a few moments of invulnerability after clicking the OK, so that if you are swarmed, you can at least run or jump away in the next 3 or 4 seconds, or use it to pull off an ice cross or other area melees to defend yourself. Enemies that do happen to aggro onto you have only fallen into your false-weakness defensive trap, and are subject to your mercy.

I think pause wasn't the right "solution" so to speak. The more I think about it the more I think having the detection reduced might be more in the right direction (think SA missions).

Think like a new player (I am to an extent) and this happened in the first handfuls of missions I completed.

I strongly support detection reduction while invincible in general. It should stop the mobbing on entry to the chunk that tends to happen in general with a bad roll of the RNG.
