Summary0008933: Energy collectors have poor efficiency in multiplayer
DescriptionOnly the first built Energy Collector at a planet creates 150,000 energy, every other player building an energy collector there receives only 15,000.

If this is intentional there is no mention of this in the patch notes.

Also has a poor interaction with the auto build setting as every new system taken has the full efficiency collector built by the same player first.

Yea, this pretty much breaks multiplayer. Probably should be fixed pretty quickly.

May want to make a post on the forums too, as this is a pretty big deal.

Or, keeping with the theme of the collectors, have one collector supply 150,000 energy to each player and have a global cap of one collector on each planet

In our game this seemed like an issue specifically with players that had lost their starting command stations - from then on it seemed like these players always got 15k and everyone else got the 150k, wherever they were built.

(It's also possible we misinterpreted this and it is as stated above, where the first in a system gives 150k and subsequent ones give 15k.)

Verified that it does indeed seem to be caused specifically by losing your home station in a multiplayer game - before then ALL energy collectors any player builds will be 150k, and after they will ALL be 15k.

For 5.042:

* Fixed a bug in the new energy model where if you had zero home command stations (even in MP, where losing your home command isn't game-over) the energy collectors would produce 15k energy instead of 150k.

On the auto-build thing, do you mean that if two players have auto-build-energy-collector on then it only builds one collector total per planet? Iirc it normally only honors the auto-build controls of the player who has the command station there, but there's a toggle for making it work on allied planets too; I may be misremembering, though. Anyway, if that's on it should be auto-building a collector for each player.

Auto building works fine with the toggle enabled, my group misidentified the reason why one player had all the 150k collectors (we thought his auto builds were going through before anyone elses) and there should be no problems once that fix goes in.
