Summary0009107: Unexplored territory aggression
DescriptionI'm not entirely clear on what happened here. However we somehow managed to gain the attention of an EMP guardian about 6-7 planets deep in enemy territory that we hadn't yet explored. I didn't think to make a save file until after the guardian had traveled through a few sectors. However, if you look at the explored planets in the south eastern quadrant, for some reason we have discovered one of the planets down there. Additionally we somehow alerted an EMP guardian on that planet that then proceeded to travel towards our front lines (sending us messages as it nuked the AI planets along its path).

No idea what happened here, but I figured it was worth reporting.

I can't look at the save file but sounds like a previous issue.

From patch 5.037:
Fixed a longstanding bug where a unit could both be reclaimed and regenerated, which would sometimes lead to an AI unit being reclaimed, zombified, and warped off somewhere deep in AI territory. Not great for threat management.

    Fixed a related bug where a unit that had swallowed other units or was tractoring other units would take them with them when regenerated. Now those units simply cannot be regenerated unless they have no such "load".


This sound like what is happening?

The first bug may or may not be related. This game is both reclaimation and regeneration heavy (golemite AI, we have microparasites, we have both a botnet and a regen golem, and I think one of the AIs has a reclaimation ship). However I couldn't truthfully say for sure. It's not a case of the latter though because I haven't seen any swallowing or tractoring as far as I can remember.

i ran into this problem all the time when fighting against an AI regenerator golem + friends. if i reclaim something in the usual "shoot them until they change color and suddenly like us" way (parasites and such) the ship i get will sometimes spawn where the regenerator golem would otherwise have spawned its replacement. this is usually easy to tell when happens since that "AI generating additional threat due to deep striking" gets my attention real fast no matter what im working on. when i try to investigate the cause i regularly notice that yet another AI system in the far end of the galaxy has suddenly revealed its ai player color but still insists on never having been explored and gives no details on ai forces there.
