Summary0000936: Reclaimed Neinzul Cockroaches, transportable or no?
DescriptionI've captured 4 Neinzul Cockroaches from an AI homeworld I conquered and they are fine in system and use the regeneration chamber I built for them just fine, but when I try to load them on my Mark II Transport they will not get inside. The transport has plenty of capacity, it's only carrying 49 Youngling Vultures. Is this working as intended but not listed in the Cockroaches description, or is this a bug?

Clever, I never thought of domesticating them ;)

Chris, are these supposed to be reclaimable?

They should be nerfed.... when one structure can spawn 1.5k of them and there are two on core world it's guaranteed failure for any fleet around. And that roaches are actually quite good at demolishing command stations.

honestly, i dont care about the damn cockroaches, just make their spawner not do 500k damage/shot.
I can live with the translocation, as mostly I just trigger them with raids and pull back...

You forgot to add that shot is every 2 seconds... but mine had 250k per shot.. it's still uber :D

>.> 250k doubled for normal. And reload halved for normal.

500k dps.

Ahh that trick... actually this thing is better than mass driver and can shoot at any unit. Mass driver is 900k damage but every 10 seconds on epic.

When I see that second core planet has 2 spawners I'm very reluctant to try and take it.... it gets to grindy.

ouch :\

well, cockroaches are suprisingly.. minor electric. This means they cant shoot turrets. Cockroaches self attrit...
Grav turrets make things slow.

But really, once you trigger them and watch them all die off, drop a transport of bombers on each post (multiple transports if you want them to unload quicker.) Should do the trick (not sure what hull type spawners are nowadays)

These things are very undecided... I had one wave of them go nuts and come to my planet 2 jumps from core world and destroy the command center there. They can do quite many bad things with that 500 hp since there can be 1k+ of them and you simply can't kill that many in reasonable time.

like i said- MAKE the time. Logistics stations and grav turrets make them almost glacially slow. 500 hp means at most 500 seconds, which isnt really that long.

Also, if they arent immune to beam attacks, it means you can eat through many of them with a single turret >.>

This still leaves the grind part around and will give few fleet rebuilds since cockroaches make sure that you can't retreat from home world and your ships will return to attack you. And these two spawners are not only thing there...

unfortunately, they are the only things worth mentioning :\

in some cases, forts, and zentih bombard posts.. but really i view those neinzul spawners as the MAIN barrier in any home system :x

Now you need to at least raid the eye and mass driver - these come as additional raid targets before you can warp in any significant fleet. That would give 4 suicide raids and rebuilds of bombers/frigates after. Thats the grindy part I'm referring to.

eye only if you outnumber them 2:1, but mass driver yeah.

Usually, yes, my battles against ai homes are largely that of suicide/rebuild. I think thats how its supposed to be nowadays. (see: avenger)

I forgot to mention that my AI reinforces with only 2 types of ships: Vampire claws and parasites...

rofl vampires and parasites are the worst of the kinds I can think of..

I actually reclaimed these by simple luck as I had sent 6 leech starships in the attack and these little buggers were unlucky enough to survive the battle and be mine when the dust settled.

What about lightning turrets?

Cockroaches are no longer reclaimable anyway, but now the ships will also show when they are immune to transport (as cockroaches are), to avoid confusion. Thanks!
