Summary0009626: Narrow water paths
DescriptionWith the great changes to deep and shallow water placement, as you know, come more narrow paths for the player to walk. This has made it clear that it's really hard to tell how close to the edge one can get before falling in.

I was floundering along the shore on the first river trying to maneuver past a tree. I also had a really hard time before I successfully exited the Cobble Paradise stage. The latter is actually one of the broken levels now -- it's impossible to explore very far into the hedge maze on the eastern screen.

I want to emphasize, if I haven't anywhere else yet, that the player falls into deep water in edges that don't LOOK at all like deep water. This is especially true when walking south of deep water -- the shallow there is actually deep.

Also, in the Pit Fest level (076) travel is brutal because the player falls into holes without actually touching them.

Do you have a screenshot? That helps to explain what you mean; just hit F12 in the game to take one that goes into the RuntimeData/Screenshots folder.

In both of the attached screenshots, taking one more step will send Darrell into the drink. In the 2nd one (Cobble Paradise) it can actually be hard to leave the level because you must line yourself up to a very specific y-coordinate before walking west.

To clarify: In both screenshots, if Darrell takes one more step in the direction he's currently facing, he'll fall in.

Thanks!

-the collisions with deep water and other obstacles of that nature was using the players' full bounds rather than their smaller collision bounds -- oops. That was making the players seem to fall in prematurely. Fixed.
