We should be careful with these though. An AI that has IREs as a bonus type will WTF ruin a golem. I don't want this tool of the AI to WTF ruin a golem, but I would like to see the threat there. That is, I shouldn't be constantly afraid to move a golem into a planet to blow stuff up. A couple IRE guardians on strategic planets? Sure. On [i]every[/i] planet? No. |

Implosion Guardians already serve as a "big player tool of destruction" deterrent in my opinion. Throwing IRE Guardians in could result in a lot of cases where a planet is overly difficult to attack due to a combination of Forts/Eyes/Ions and Guardians on top of regular ships and any nearby Special Forces/Local forces to the planet. |
