Summary | 0009919: Black Hole Golem
Description | The Black Hole golem has no conventional weapons but it creates an artificial black hole that causes a major gravitational disruption on the planet it's on resulting in a substantial reduction in ship movement based on their proximity to the golem. Enemy ships in close proximity are slowly torn asunder due to the gravitational forces it emits while allied ships are able to compensate for it. Similar to that of the Vulture weapons it does more damage based on that already taken by the enemy ships as they are more easily torn apart due to their hull being compromised.

yeah sure I like this idea. I'm thinking about black holes and they suck things in right? How about the black hole golem would draw all enemy ships in a wide area (not sure if that should be planetary wide or not) to himself? The further away the enemy ships, the slower they get sucked in. And when they're close (15k-20k range), they start taking very high attrition damage, more and more the closer they get. Of course this would make the golem vulnerable to attacks as well. This idea has undoubtly been suggested before, but this is the first time I'm seeing it. Supported. |

I would love it if it had an effect that sucked ships towards it but that may be difficult to do. My thought was have a slow effect on the system based on distance to it to simulate ships using their engines to help try and compensate for it. Although I do love the idea of having it do high attrition damage within close range. While it would make it more vulnerable to attack you also have to think about how much damage it can do to ships. It may be difficult to strike a balance though so it doesn't end up being OP. I am not sure if it has been suggested before either but this is my first time posting it. :P Too bad I am not better with graphics because I think this golem could also look really cool if you have a swirling black hole effect in the middle of it. |
