Description | We need an FG command called FaceDirection N/S/E/W that alters the direction an enemy, player, or NPC is facing. This is important during scripted storytelling when characters should face each other while talking, or face the object of their discussion. When used, it will simply apply the appropriate graphic without actually moving the sprite. | ||||

Thought I'd add a note to bump this toward the top of the list. :) I have Pierce running to where the kids hide as Willis and the Grays rush through the gate, but I need him to face east instead of west without having to take a step to accomplish it. |

Thanks for the bump! That definitely gets things noticed faster out of this big list. :) * Added new scripting command: FGFACING ** set the facing of the specified fg tile to the specified direction (args: OrigTileNumber, N/S/E/W) |

My exclamation of "YES!!!" prompted my brother to ask, "Is that really necessary?" The characters have been behaving randomly in the past, which has had hilarious results. For example, Lela treks past Grays in the Shallows, but when she reaches her destination, she may face away from the action, as if nonchalant, or she may face south to watch Pierce's struggles... And the worst, of course, is when characters don't face each other as they talk. I'm a major "Final Fantasy SNES" fan, so the potential to make sprites look like they're interacting is huge. :) |
