Summary0010719: Increase minimum game speed from -10 to -5 due to UI issues
DescriptionThanks to the speed of the UI being partially tied to the game speed (documented elsewhere as being very difficult to fix, so probably won't be fixed anytime soon), how about increasing the minimum speed. At really slow speeds, the UI behaves oddly. But at only somewhat slower speeds, the UI doesn't feel all that off.

As I cannot think of a use case for using -10 speed over -5 (in fact, I can't see any use for any speed lower than -2 personally), maybe it would be better to just get rid of those really low speeds so that players don't get confused by really laggy UI.

If someone can give me a convincing, practical, commonly used use case for speeds < -5, then please feel free to post them here.

It’s how I play!? Fine control over the game allows for precise target acquisition in a time critical hostile environment. It removes the “jedi-wonders” of mouse jockeys and makes the game based around strategy and reasoning.
I play the game on “blitz” speed, then modulate the game-rate through the speed control (+10 to -10) for fine adjustment and the refresh rate (17ms VS 166ms) for very coarse control. I’ll crank the game to over 4500%. But when I want complete control it has to be a lot slower.

The other practical reasons would be testing and documentation.

Well, ultra micro uses certainly is a very valid reason.

Hmm, maybe that is "fuel" to try to get the UI to work nicely at low game speeds.
