Description | While I am unsure how Untangle works exactly, it looks like connections attract, while non-connections repulse, as a guess. That way, you can have a nice clean initial setup, possibly no crosses, and then start the game, with everyone's default setup being as such. The point is, it is EXTREMELY effective, especially on the brain-melting, Lattice, vines, or tree graphs, none of which were really playable without manually untangling before. However, it can probably be improved a bit further. In the Game Setup Phase, I would like.... -Ability to Manually move Planets -Ability to Pin Planets, so Untangle can't alter them. -Have separate button, perhaps, or automatic every xx ticks of untangle, for any planets with a connection crossing it, but not connected, shift the planet to one side, so the connection is obviously not there. That being said, the untangle option... Is almost god-tier in how useful it is. Bravo! | ||||

I really want the ability to manually move planets in the lobby! Untangle usually doesn't do a great job, although it's a good start. The map from the lobby would become the standard map shared by all players. I know it's possible to move and untangle the planets in a private map view after the game has started, but then it's harder for players to refer to the same locations when they're looking at different maps. The ability to manually untangle the map before the game starts would be greatly appreciated. I don't think it's necessary to have pinning or other changes to make untangle especially smart because that could be a big, open-ended project and it may never be as good as simply letting people move planets around. |
